100 Dancers Representing Sixteen Countries Represented at the Boston International Ballet Competition, June 15-17
Close to 100 dancers from 16 countries around the world will travel to Boston to appear in the 2nd Annual Boston International Ballet Competition, founded and directed by Valentina Kozlova, former principal dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet and New York City Ballet. Rounds, awards ceremony, and gala performance will be shown in a packed 3-day event, June 15-17, at the Cutler Majestic Theater.
The panel of judges is chaired by Mikko Nissinen, Artistic Director of the Boston Ballet, and includes major company directors, teachers and producers from the U.S., Russia, Panama, Canada, Germany, and South Korea.

About BIBC, Ms. Kozlova states: “From the beginning, BIBC’s concern has been to make sure that participating dancers focus on their passion, dance. BIBC is not about competing, but rather about sharing knowledge and achievements. It is a celebration of talent.”
Compulsory Solo for 2012 BIBC – Male
Dancers have the chance to learn new repertory, meet their contemporaries from other countries, and possibly gain scholarships, contracts with ballet companies, and monetary rewards.
