Béjart Ballet Lausanne….Le Presbytère n’a rien perdu de son charme, ni le jardin de son éclat (aka Ballet for life)….

March 8, 2013

Le Presbytère n’a rien perdu de son charme, ni le jardin de son éclat (aka Ballet for life).

This ballet, created in 1998, is one of the most famous works of Maurice Béjart,  along with the works The Rite of Spring, The Firebird (both using music by Stravinsky) or Boléro, which used the famous score of Ravel.

It was created in homage to three people who died very early in their lifes: Jorge Donn, Freddy Mercury and W. A. Mozart.

The music is mostly from Queen with 4 pieces by Mozart. Donn appears throughout the piece in excerpts from of Nijinsky, Clown de Dieu.
