In Memory of Rudolf Nureyev….

On Jan. 6th, 1993, that’s 22 years ago today, Rudolf Nureyev died in Paris of complications related to AIDS at the age of 55. One of the most celebrated dancers of the 20th century, he trained at the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in St. Petersburg and danced with the Kirov (Mariinsky) Ballet before defecting to the West in 1961.
